USE OF ELECTRONIC DEVICES

The American Medical Association (JAMA) studied the digital media use of more than 2,500 high school students, who did not have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), over a period of 2 years. The study showed that the frequent use of digital media appeared to increase the risk of ADHD by 10%. The risk was higher for boys than for girls, and for teens who had depression. And this is on top of concerns for device addiction and concerns that cell phones interfere with learning real social skills.—
